Memphis Grizzlies basketball swingman Anthony Allen, better known as Tony Allen, donated his shoe, that kicked Los Angeles Clippers’ Chris Paul in the face, to Memphis non-profit organization Youth Villages.
It was Nov. 19 when Tony Allen went into the air, extended his leg in a defensive move that put his left shoe across the face of the 2013 All-Star MVP Chris Paul.
Allen, though he said it was not intentional, was ejected from the game on a flagrant foul charge, suspended and fined.
Now, to help to fund holiday gifts for children, Allen donated that shoe to Youth Villages, who auctioned the shoe off bringing in a last bid of $5400, which will be doubled, by an anonymous donor giving the same amount, reports Youth Villages’ blog.
Hats off to Memphis Grizzlies’ Tony Allen for kicking some support to a charitable cause.
