The day after Thanksgiving kicks off the Christmas shopping season.

Many people don’t go to sleep Thanksgiving evening in preparation for the biggest shopping day of the year. The day after Thanksgiving which has been coined “Black Friday” because of the chaos, mayhem and anarchy shoppers result to in order to get the best deals. Here are 5 shopping tips to survive “Black Friday”:

1, Don’t fall for the early bird exclusive hour sales. Many of the stores are in short supply anyway.

2. Shop online and avoid the crowds.

3. Buy store gift cards instead of the bank gift cards, because they charge fees and expire quickly.

4. Always ask for a gift receipt for the purchases because stores don’t give full value if they take it back for the exchange. Ask for multiple receipts if needed.

5. Always apply for the rebates. Stores can charge the low price after a rebate because the majority of the shoppers lose the receipts, throw away the boxes or don’t bother so they loose the discount.

Good Luck on Friday and I wish you much patience as you endure the mass of people and the long lines.
