Red Sox fans are celebrating today after the team’s win over the Colorado Rockies in Denver Sunday night.
A home run in the seventh inning put the Sox up 3-0, but the Rockies rallied back with one run and two others in the eighth. Bobby Kielty’s eighth inning score secured the Sox 4-3 win.
Sox closer, Jonathan Papelbon, retired the last five Rockies hitters, and finished the postseason without allowing a hit in 10 innings. Mike Lowell, whose two homeruns help lead the Sox to victory Sunday night, was later name World Series MVP.
After the win, Red Sox president Larry Lucchino told media
