Co-founder of Neely’s Barbecue in Memphis, Patrick ‘Pat’ Neely and his wife Gina Neely are getting divorced after nearly twenty years of marriage.
The celebrity chefs of Food Network’s Down Home with the Neelys cooking show cite “irreconcilable differences” as their reason for divorce.
It was last year when the celebrity couple closed down their Memphis barbecue restaurant chain to pursue their new projects on a national level.
Gina Neely has the George Foreman weight-loss challenge and her new line of Green Giant foods while Pat Neely launched a partnership with Family Dollar showing people how to shop for food on a budget.
The couple still plans to work together on the brand that they have built while they also still own a Neely’s Barbecue in New York City.
In a joint statement released online, the couple called their divorce “a tough decision” while adding that they believe “it is the best decision” for them to make.
The couple are parents of two adult daughters which they say they will continue to be involved in their lives together while they move forward with their own individual brands.
Asking for people’s prayers, the Neelys added that they hope people will also honor their request for privacy as they work through their split apart.
