Today, Thursday (Mar. 13), marks the beginning of The Core DJ’s annual retreat that will go on through this weekend until Monday (Mar. 17). In support of five struggling New Orleans families during the Core DJ’s retreat, they will be uniting with Polo Grounds Music (which was brought on by Founder and President Bryan Leach’s non-profit organization FanMale Inc.), FILA, Capital One and Juggie of Q93 and hosting a special dinner for the families affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The dinner, which will be held at Montrel’s Bistro in New Orleans, LA, will be attended by Juggie, Polo Grounds Music artists Diamond and Lil Josh & Ernest, along with several of the Core DJ executives. Gifts provided by Polo Grounds Music, FILA and several other sponsors will also be presented to the families.

“It’s great to see the music industry not only contributing to our economy, but also giving back to our community in a personal way,” stated New Orleans Clear Channel Q03 radio personality, Juggie. “It just goes to show that the music industry has a lot of heart,” added Juggie.

Founded in December of 2003 by Core DJ’s CEO, Tony Neal, the DJ coalition was organized to empower and educate ‘the core’ of the music industry, the DJ’s. Some influential DJs and music executives that are members of The Core DJs include Big Tigger, Clinton Sparks, Mr. Collipark, Kid Capri and New Orleans own Juggie of Q93, just to name a few.

The Core DJs Retreat acts as a reunion for DJs by inviting all DJ organizations to network with one another while attending various listening sessions, artist meet & greets and several artist/label showcases which have seen participation from Atlantic Records, Warner Brothers Records, Def Jam, Virgin, So So DEF, Sony BMG, Rap-A-Lot Records, Jive, Bad Boy Entertainment and a host of others.
