Controversial Memphis radio host Thaddeus Matthews was allegedly attacked and beaten unconscious by an alleged member of the New Black Panther Party over the weekend.
Reportedly, Matthews was confronted by the man, the alleged attacker, who wanted to be interviewed on Matthews’ radio show.
The man apparently wanted to talk about the Darrius Stewart case on his radio show.
Stewart, a black teenager, was shot and killed by a police officer during an apparent struggle after a routine traffic stop.
Matthews reportedly declined to interview the man in question which apparently provoked the man to become aggressive with Matthews while some witnesses claim Matthews was the aggressor.
Still, the incident ended with Matthews reportedly being knocked unconscious to the ground and kicked by the man while down.
Ian Jeffries, aka Shango Jakuta, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault following the incident.
