Teflon Don, Winner of the Showcase, Prepares To Release First Solo Album, Drops New Single “Shorty So Fine” ft. Mersé

Teflon Don — Winner of the 2008 Showcase & Industry Networking Event was inspired by his military experience traveling around the world with a Memphis swagger mixed with a military sound. He has opened for names such as B.G., Lil Jon, Magnificent and others. With his gritty voice and style, he’s destined to be reckoned.

Born Donald Askew, rapper Teflon Don states the military and his past has helped shape him to become the rapper he is today. The rapper and army militant, who’s name “Teflon Don” was given to him by co-workers, won over Industry judges at the Showcase & Industry Network in January of 2008. This is where he performed his song “I Represent” ft. Tom Skeemask in front of two-time SEA Award-winning DJ Freddy Hydro who’s responsible for talent such as Soulja Boy, music producer Kurt Clayton who’s produced for Three 6 Mafia and a number of movies, Memphis Grammy President and national music producer/songwriter Al Kapone, TV and radio personality Tina Tilton (88.5 FM), Kevin Nix (L. Nix & Mastering/Ardent Studios) and a host of other showcase judges and industry professionals.

After winning the Showcase, Teflon Don was called off for military duty. Now after taking months off to serve his country for military duty, Teflon Don has returned to prep for his new album.

Rapper Teflon Don presents his first single from his upcoming debut album “God, The Government, The Game” entitled “Shorty So Fine” featuring Mersé.

“God, The Government, The Game,” is expected to be released in late Spring of ’09.
