In this video, teens discuss sharing and baring naked pictures of themselves among friends. A study research survey of 1,280 teens and young adults conducted by TRU for The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy and CosmoGirl.com showed that one in five teen girls (22%), and almost one in five teen boys (18%) say they have sent or posted online nude or semi-nude images of themselves.
In addition to that survey, one-third (33%) of the teen boys and one-quarter (25%) of the teen girls say they have had nude or semi-nude photos, that were originally meant to be private, shared with them.
The numbers only get slightly higher with young adults ages 20-26: 36% of women and 31% of men say they have sent or posted similar racy images.
Susan Schulz from Hearst Magazines and Marisa Nightingale from the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy discussed why more teens are sending naked pictures of themselves online.
