Soulja Boy Lands Sneaker and Apparel Contract with Yums Shoes

Rapper Soulja Boy (Collipark Records/Interscope) recently was announced to have landed a multi-year sneaker and apparel contract with Texas company Yums Shoes.

Rapper Soulja Boy, 17, who’s under Collipark Records/Interscope recently was announced to have landed a multi-year sneaker and apparel contract with Texas company Yums Shoes. The deal will allow the rapper to design his on signature style of shoes with Yums graffiti artist Tex from Dallas, alongside the Yums’ Block Star line of sneakers which is known for its rainbow colored appearance with graffiti art. In addition to the Block Star line, Yums will also be offering street-oriented apparel designed by Soulja Boy and Tex.

“This is a natural fit for Yums Shoes, Interscope and Soulja Boy Tell’em. It clearly demonstrates how music and fashion blend together.” McDade adds, “The shoes and clothing line allow the wearer to express his or her personality, because each shoe is an individual piece of art. Soulja Boy Tell’em will be able to assist in designing shoes and apparel exactly the way he would want them to look. And with Interscope’s considerable marketing savvy, we expect this effort to be our biggest, most far-reaching yet,” Tex stated about the deal between Collipark Music / Interscope Records, Soulja Boy Tell’em and Yums Shoes in a press release.

Mr. Collipark born Michael Crooms, president of Collipark Records, is stated to be excited about everything and is looking for bigger things to come for Soulja Boy (Soulja Boy Tell’em).

“We are very excited and have high expectations for this opportunity and future Soulja Boy Tell’em endeavors, including movies and television,” stated Mr. Collipark.

According to Steve Berman, President, Sales and Marketing, Interscope Geffen A&M, Soulja Boy (Soulja Boy Tell’em) has a very keen sense of cultural radar and built his own brand and they’re lucky to be working with him to help take it to the next level.

Soulja Boy is described as having a sense for what his fans wants which makes him a perfect artist to have a sneaker line.

“We’re excited to partner with him on this,” said Berman.

Other artists who have been associated with the Yums Shoes include Slim Thug, Swisha House’s Michael “5000” Watts, Rick Ross, Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, Travis Barker, Shawty Lo, amongst others.
