Alex King is a new artist outta Nashville that has been picked up by Memphis’ own Select-O Hits for a sweet distribution deal. Not only are they pressing up t-shirts and promos for the artist’s upcoming album, but they also threw him a listening party inside of the Select-O warehouse, their first event at their location ever. Wes Philips, whose family owns Select-O Hits, says he is ready to move forward with the company and would like to start doing more events and also linking with other companies in the city.
The atmosphere was laid back: food, drinks, and an inside peek at Alex King’s upcoming album “Reincarnated” featuring songs such as “What If I“ and “It Is What It Is.” The album was interesting, Alex King uses a live band and he has good meaning behind each song. King also has a separate company that designs their own logos and they also do their own production of music and videos. Impressive!
There were some good Memphis contacts in the house; Concrete Magazine Memphis Edition, Setting The Pace, DJ Flip, Skewby, Teflon Don, and Street Savvy.
Alex King will be releasing his album soon and we will keep you posted on when and where you can check him out.
