Rapper Mystikal “Micahel L. Tyler,” 36, who’s known from the No Limit label and hot singles “Y’all Ain’t Ready Yet,” “Shake Ya A-s” and “Bouncin’ Back” has been serving a six year sentence for the sexual attack and videotaping of his former hairstylist in 2003.
Defense attorney Roy H. Maughan Jr. stated that he hope that Mystikal receives a parole hearing soon probably early as next month after being transferred from Elayne Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel to David Wade Correctional in north Louisiana. The rapper has already served two of his six years for the incident.
Since the rapper was rejected parole by the state parole board which he requested more than a year ago he is unable to file another request until January of next year. Without parole, Mystikal’s sentence will not end until Jan. 14, 2010.
Bodyguard, Leland “Pokie” Ellis, 37, received three years and Vercy “V” Carter, 35, received four years.
Since the sentence Mystikal has paid a sum of over $350,000 to the victim whereas more than $300,000 was borrowed from his label. His plea states that his is trying to make up to all involved for the distress he caused the victim. Also in his plea the rapper admits to trying to cheat the federal government out of over $1 million dollars for the two years he failed to file taxes.
