Rapper held on $2 million bail for murder

According to sources rapper Charly “Max B” Wingate, 28, of the group Dipset was held on $2 million bail on robbery and murder charges by Bergen County Superior Court Judge Harry G. Carroll.

According to sources rapper Charly “Max B” Wingate, 28, of the group Dipset was held on $2 million bail on robbery and murder charges by Bergen County Superior Court Judge Harry G. Carroll. The rapper is being held on charges linked to a killing and robbery in New Jersey last year.

The rap artist is accused of murder, conspiracy and robbery in a scheme that unfolded last Sept. 22 in a Fort Lee hotel room according to New Jersey Star Ledger.

Charly “Max B” Wingate is stated to have set up the robbery at the Holiday Inn on Route 4 after his girlfriend, erotic dancer Gina Marie Conway, told him of meeting two men who flashed large amounts of money and drove expensive cars according to Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Catherine Fantuzzi. The rapper brought in a friend named Kelvin Leerdam to help with the robbery which ended in murder. David Taylor who had a seperate room from his friend, Allan “Jay” Plowden, was called to Allan’s room by telephone and was then shot in the head. Allan “Jay” Plowden was duct taped.

Wingate’s attorney Gerald Saluti insists that his client wasn’t even at the hotel where the murder took place.

Max B remains held on high bail as he awaits trial. If convicted at trial the rapper faces life in prison for felony murder, armed robbery and conspiracy.
