Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Williams, 70, known in Downtown Memphis, TN as the “Mayor of Beale Street,” has been found dead and is being mourned after the Memphis musician had been reported missing for over a week from the Beale Street music scene.
Rudy ‘Mayor of Beale Street’ Williams went missing back on May 24 and hadn’t been seen since.
Williams body was recovered, found on Tuesday night in a wooded area in Whitehaven not far from his home.
The 70-year-old Williams played the trumpet on the Memphis Beale Street music scene for reportedly over 50 years.
Ironically, this unfortunate story comes at the beginning of Black Music Month.
Now, many are weeping on social network sites such as Twitter at the lost of the Beale Street musician Rudy ‘Mayor of Beale Street’ Williams.
According to sources, currently, since the cause of death is unknown, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) are not investigating the death as a homicide but are still looking for possible causes of death.
