One of the main vocalists of the Pussycat Dolls felt it was time to announce her departure.
After rumors began to surface on last month that she was leaving the Pussycat Dolls to pursue solo projects, on Saturday, March 8, 2008, she wrote on the official Pussycat Doll’s website:
“I wanted to be the first to tell you that I’m no longer with the Pussycat Dolls but we will always be sisters forever.”
According to reports, she will not be replaced and the group will continue on as a five-piece leaving Nicole Scherzinger (lead), Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton (lead).
Carmit Bachar began her dance career as a child due to both parents being dancers. Her mother worked as a dance teacher and her father worked with Elvis Presley and Marcel Marceau. Bachar competed internationally as a rhythmic gymnast for 10 years, and placed 5th in the U.S. Olympic trials in 1992. Throughout her career of competing on the U.S. National Team, Bacahr attended Hamilton Academy of Music in Los Angeles, studying music, dance, piano and viola. She has appeared in numerous films such as 13 Going on 30, Along Came Polly, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Good Burger and has was a dancer for No Doubt’s world tour, Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca” world tour, Aaliyah’s “Rock The Boat” video, Beyonc
