A 19 year-old New York rapper is believed to have committed suicide on Christmas Eve and left behind a message indicting it would possibly be “The End” via the micro-blogging social network site Twitter.
Capital Steez born Jamal Dewar, of the rising Brooklyn rap group Pro Era (Progressive Era), allegedly committed suicide on December 24 after leaving what would be his final message on Twitter (December 23) – the words “The End.”

Group member and friend, Joey Bada$$, confirmed Capital Steez’ death by taking to Twitter and stating that he had lost a best friend, brother and asked that Jamal’s soul rest in peace.

The death of Capital Steez comes after the group, Pro Era released their mixtape “PEEP: The Aprocalypse” produced by DJ Statik Selektah in honor of the Mayan prediction that the world would be ending 12-21-12.
Meanwhile, the New York Police Department has not released information on the death of Capital Steez or the exact cause.
