Millions of people may be more excited because the Senate committee brushed aside U.S. President George W. Bush’s plea to send out more troops to Iraq. While Bush expects to play dodge ball with the troops there was a 12-9 vote by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with one Republican, resolution co-author Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, voting for it. But this is only the beginning.Next week, the Senate floor gets to vote but according to reports, the panel’s chairman Sen. Joseph Biden, a Delaware Democrat, said it may be rewritten to attract more Republicans who have soured on the Iraq war. Bush, a Republican, does not have to abide by the resolution.
