Rockstar has released more information on the official in-game soundtrack for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V, which is due to release September 17.
Gamers can expect 15 radio stations to choose from, which will be hosted by celebrity DJs (Pam Grier, Bootsy Collins, Kenny Loggins, Jesco White, Flying Lotus, DJ Pooh, etc.), two talk radio channels, plus more.
In addition, the game is expected to feature more than 240 licensed songs, which is roughly enough music to last 20 to 30 hours.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, soundtrack supervisor Ivan Pavlovich, revealed that in their first fully collaborative score, split into three composers, will include Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream, the Alchemist and Oh No, and Woody Jackson, who will be used to define a character or an environment in the game.
Even though you may be triggering one score with a particular character or within a particular area in the world, you’re always hearing elements from the other composers. The first time you come into the country you’re blown away by Woody Jackson’s rock score, but within that you’re still hearing elements of Tangerine Dream, and Alchemist and Oh No.
As the release gets closer, Grand Theft Auto V game players can expect more to be revealed as September 17 nears.
