NWA Pilots Try To Keep Their License

The Two Northwest Airlines pilots who lost their licenses due to overflying their Minneapolis destination are planning to reapply for their FAA license.

They didn’t contest their license revocation, but can apply in 10, instead of 12, months. The info as to why their trial settled is both unclear or unknown, but the settlement pre-empt the use of an appeal regarding their case.

Both the pilots, Capt. Timothy Cheney and First Officer Richard Cole over flew their flight by getting distracted by an airline scheduling system on their laptops and presumably lost track of time.

Both Pilots were apologetic for their actions, and are hoping to be back flying in 10 months as planned.
