New photos have surfaced online that allegedly show the American gunman and outlaw William H. “Bonney” McCarty, Jr. aka Billy The Kid.

But are the new pictures of Billy The Kid actually real? New Mexico historian Frank Parrish says yes.

In the alleged photo of the infamous outlaw, Billy The Kid can be seen sitting with another man, seemingly his friend Dan Dedrick.

Before these new pictures surfaced there had only been one confirmed photo of Billy The Kid in existence.

The one photo was one a 2×3 inch ferrotype (tintype) taken around 1880 and had been the only photo in his artifacts that had been preserved by his friend Dan Dedrick, who had passed it down to Dedrick’s family and later sold for $2.3 million in 2011 at the Brian Lebel’s Annual Old West Show and Auction.

The new picture, which has been in the hands of a person who wants to remain anonymous, allegedly was once part of the estate of sheriff Pat Garrett who shot and killed Billy The Kid.

The photo shows what is believed to be Wild West gunslinger Billy The Kid and his pal Dan Dedrick.
