Recently, MySpace and Skype, decided to merge their services with one another to widen communication between MySpace members.
Skype’s telephony network and MySpace’s instant messenger will allow members to make internet phone calls to each other for free. There will be a price, however, for calls made to cell phones, land lines, and other services like voice mail and call forwarding.
Skype is a significant network throughout Europe, but does not have a large customer base in the US. Their association with MySpace is a way to expose mainstream US consumers to the company. inThe two businesses plan on launching a test version on MySpace.com in November.
