Record producer Carlos Evans sued 50 Cent, Lil Kim, Atlantic and Rotten Apple Records for $2 million on Thursday, claiming he was never paid the royalties he was entitled to for his work on the Lil Kim hit “Magic Stick”.50 is involved because, according to Evans’ lawsuit, the track was originally intended to appear on Get Rich or Die Tryin. A Rotten Apple attorney said the royalties matter was convoluted because Evans used a larger sample of another artist’s work that had to be licensed and paid for.
