Memphisrap.com has learned that Memphis-based Mouth of tha South Entertainment Group (MSE) and Memphis’ largest entertainment agency, Resource Entertainment Group (REG), have formed a new booking agency and event production company — Mouth of tha South (“MOTS”), which will be led up by the CEO of the new company Artemis “Peppa” Williams.

Williams, who owns the parent company, Mouth of tha South Entertainment Group, an entertainment services company active in rap and hip-hop bookings since 1999 which raked in an excess of $1 million in 2008 for artist booking revenues, will be setting the creative vision for the new company, “MOTS,” formed with REG (a company founded in 2004, with 2008 revenues in excess of $4.5 million) who became a partner after purchasing a 1/3 stake in MSE.

With Howard Stovall serving as Chief Operating Officer for MOTS, Resource Entertainment Group will provide administrative support, bookkeeping and financial management support, and event production services to the newly formed booking company.

The joint venture is aimed at bringing together urban artists and mainstream agency support in a way never before seen in the region for the Memphis and Mid-South entertainment industry.

“What we are going to do will be groundbreaking,” said CEO Peppa Williams in a statement released to MemphisRap.com. “This agency is going to bring support and professionalism to artists who have never had access to this level of resources before. The strengths in this partnership are going to create real results for the artists we work with.”

“REG has been looking for new opportunities for growth, and we are very excited to team up with a man we’ve worked with many times before and in whom we have a ton of confidence,” adds COO Howard Stovall.

Working to open doors of revenue to artists Williams adds, “This partnership and the opportunities it will create within the urban music community is going to translate into more bookings and better compensation for artists who have been self-promoting or working with solo operators.”

And Williams goes on to insure that the company will not only be working with the mainstream artists claiming, “We’re playing for the long term to benefit both emerging and established artists who want to take their game up a level.”
