Mike Tyson arrested on cocaine and DUI charges

According to reports 40-year-old former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson “Michael Gerard Tyson” has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cocaine.

According to reports 40-year-old former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson “Michael Gerard Tyson” has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cocaine in Scottsdale, AZ after leaving a nightclub early on Friday about 1:45 AM.

Mike Tyson was arrested 10 miles east of Phoenix, Arizona, at around 8:45 GMT after almost hitting a sherrif’s vehicle state Arizona police.

After appearing in court he was ordered to be freed under supervision so that he could be monitored for drug and alcohol until his next court appearance which will be held on January 16.

Sgt Larry Hall of the Buckeye Police Department stated “He has been charged with DUI (driving under the influence of) drugs and possession of a controlled substance, cocaine. He showed signs of impairment, and voluntarily submitted to field sobriety tests.”

“It was found on him and in his car,” he added.

Sgt Hall stated that Mike Tyson “acted like a complete gentleman” and was very cooperative.

Mike admitted to using drugs the day of his arrest and that he had a drug problem, the arresting officer was noted as stating in court documents.

Tyson was booked at the Maricopa County sheriff’s jail and held separately from other prisoners for safety reasons.

Mike Tyson was released shortly after being booked.
