FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Memphis, TN – October 27, 2008 – MemphisRap.com relaunches website with enhanced digital music services, video and features for those in the music and entertainment industry.
MemphisRap.com, the Mid-South’s largest music and entertainment site reintroduced and launched its public beta digital services site and online TV site on Friday, October 24th, 2008. Outside of its daily news site, MemphisRap.com’s new music services and social community site gives artists, producers, labels, Djs, models, filmmakers and others alike the ability to sell digital downloads, concert tickets, promote projects, merchandise and more while connecting and networking with others.
Artists, labels, producers and Djs who become a part of the newly relaunched site can sell an assortment of digital downloads and products and buyers can purchase them instantly from their individual online store as well as concert tickets and merchandise. Models, dancers, and filmmakers have the opportunity to sell their videos, photos, and more through the network.
Members can customize their user profiles and can even share their customized skins with other members of their friends network, create their own individual video channel playlists, radio stations and more. The new site also makes it easy to find the latest and newest talent with a simple query through its search interface while providing online music charts, blogs, event listings and more information on those registered.
“We are thrilled about relaunching our services. This is only an expansion and upgrade of our web-based music and media site,” said MemphisRap.com’s Online Media Director Charla Littlejohn.
“One thing I’ve learned since the beginning while being with MemphisRap.com is not being afraid to start again, taking risks and even trying to enhance what we’re working with. With our newly relaunched site, we’re not limiting the talented, we’re giving them a canvas to make their presence known. In addition to this, we’ll be spotlighting those who join the site by featuring them and getting our editors to hand-pick artists, Djs and producers for our online radio playlists and adding those that fans have requested,” states Littlejohn.
“MemphisRap.com will continue to provide music and entertainment news while making the site structured to be in line with the next multimedia platforms taking place online,” adds Littlejohn.
Another primary focus of the site is to offer registered members an avenue to earn from digital sales as well as merchandise sales. Though not all the Industry and fans have moved away from CD’s, digital sales have become quite the comfort and alternative income source for independent artists in particular who can somewhat become work-at-home entrepreneurs selling digital downloads over the internet. Without the time to manufacture CD’s, and the time to promote themselves all around town, artists can look to MemphisRap.com to offer them another outlet to promote their music and sell their music while monitoring and managing their sales from the comfort of their PC or laptop. All the while, registered members can make new connections, maintain strong connections with others in the community while staying abreast of the latest news and trends via Memphisrap.com daily articles from Memphisrap.com editors and from the registered members blog sites.
“MemphisRap.com gets emails from people all the time asking about booking the artists and other people that they see on our site published in our articles. Maybe now the new site will give registered users a presence on the site and this will have the interested parties emailing them with the opportunities,” stated Director/Founder Hosea ‘M Town’ Mays, Jr.
“Plus I like the mix of talent that we now house on the site, from artists to models to Dj’s to FilmMakers, it opens up doors for connections I believe was missing from the site and will benefit everyone in the long run,” adds Mays. “With this expansion, MemphisRap.com will have a combination of news and media, plus more ways of connecting those in the Industry with those in their local area and those nationwide seeking to make connections.”
“We feel that providing a multimedia site that combines social networking and news, is and will be what’s popular and that’s what we’re going for. Although the site may look complete we’re still working everyday to make it better,” adds Littlejohn.
MemphisRap.com invites visitors to create a member website, blog, network with other users and to share their experiences. And joining is free.
