Memphis: The City of Blues and more

There are very few cities with the rich history that lives in Memphis, TN. Memphis is more than the city that lies on the Mississippi River it is a city with loads of history and the birthplace of music that has developed into many different styles. Memphis is the birthplace of blues, the hotbed for jazz and rock and roll. It is also known for much more than just music. Memphis is the home of The National Civil Rights Museum, formally known as the Lorraine Motel, and the famous Beale Street.

Memphis is known for its strong influence on the world of music. Many famous musicians have graced the city of Memphis with their presence. W.C. Handy was one of those artists that loved to visit Memphis; it is where he set up shop in the early 1900s.
