Memphis rap artist Al Kapone, who just recently released his Memphis tribute song “M’s Up,” walked away the winner in the celebrity division in a lip-sync battle challenge held at Hard Rock Cafe Memphis the other night. Kapone, along with new Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, were onboard for the challenge which was for a good cause.
The lip-sync battle challenge went to benefit and support MLGW’s Plus-1 program administered by MIFA.
Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland did his best Jerry Lee Lewis’ performance of song “Great Balls of Fire.”
Still, it was rapper Al Kapone’s mimicking of Marvin Gaye’s song “Let’s Get It On” that impressed the judges the most.
