Memphis Man Arrested For Starving Pitbull Dogs and Pups

Memphis resident Edwin Ballard is being charged with eleven counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after allegedly starving pitbull dogs and puppies with no food or water.

Police were called to the area after reports of a suspicious person were made. Upon arrival, the two Memphis police officers noticed an adult female pit bull tangled up in her leash on the porch with no food or water.

When Mr. Ballard opened the door for officers, they found another underweight pit bull and nine puppies in a cage.

None of the animals had access to food or water and feces covered the floor.

Ballard also faces a misdemeanor charge for allegedly stealing utilities from MLG&W.

He was held on a $6,000 bond.
