Memphis Humane Society Director Terminated after only 8 Months

Last week Carol Carlson, ex-director, was terminated only after an 8 month tenure for the Human Society of Memphis and Shelby County.

She was given no reason as to why she was terminated, or what may have caused it. Even though she told
The Daily News in an open interview that she wasn’t surprised, she’s grateful that she was able to accomplish success during her 8 month tenure.

Carlson lowered the animal population through adoption. A total of 225 animals were adopted within her 8 month reign.

The Daily News tried to contact the current president of the board, Dr. Robert S. Egerman, but turned up with no luck.
