With cold temperatures in Memphis, TN and surrounding areas dropping below freezing, school closings have been announced for the Memphis metro-area.
So far school closings for tomorrow (Friday, January 24, 2014) include Fayette County Schools, Hardeman County Schools and McNairy County Schools.
Shelby County schools have not made an announcement for classes for Friday although that may change depending on Memphis, TN weather conditions.
Meanwhile, school looks like it will be in for the more than 140,000 students in the Memphis & Shelby County School system.
The weather temperature for Memphis, TN is expected to rise above freezing to 37 degrees Fahrenheit on Friday (Jan. 24) with winds of up to 18 mph with no precipitation expected.
