An altercation Monday evening in which 5 yr. old Jayvion Williams was caught in gunman’s crossfire which left the child with a bullet wound in his back.

After a fight involving Jayvion’s uncle Brandon’s girlfriend on the 900 block of Maury St., Jayvion was getting ready to eat dinner when gunmen opened fire and he was struck in the back while watching TV at home.

The fight began between two teenage girls, according to Victoria Williams, Jayvion’s mother. The fight ended when two grown men showed up at the house, armed with guns with the intentions of retaliating. The men sprayed the door of the house.

The bullet that hit Jayvion was thought to have hit the door first, slowing the bullet enough so that it didn’t pass through his body.
