The story of a possible pregnancy pact between 17 Gloucester High School students at a school in Massachusetts has the mayor of the city meeting with other city officials to handle the media frenzy.
After mainstream media picked up on the story of a possible pregnancy pact between 17 Gloucester High School students at a school in Massachusetts, the mayor of the city will be discussing with other city officials on how to handle the media frenzy.Mayor Carolyn Kirk will reportedly meet for about two hours with the chairman of the School Committee, the superintendent of schools and the city’s director of public health and other personel to ‘regroup’ Kirk stated after being bombarded by national media coverage.
Kirk is hoping that this puts everyone on the same page and will give them the opportunity to discuss the “alleged” pact.
In the meantime, officials have been told to decline all media interviews until after the meeting. Kirk says she’s concerned about the privacy of the young teen girls and wants everyone [officials] to be working with the same information.
The meeting has been scheduled for 11 AM, with a press conference to follow at 1 PM.
