Man Shot After Fight Brawl and Shooting Inside Memphis Nightclub

Over the weekend on Beale Street in Downtown Memphis, a man was hit by a bullet while inside a nightclub on Sunday during the wee hours of the morning.

The man was shot after a fight had broke out inside of Crave nightclub located at 380 Beale St.

According to the Commercial Appeal, the police had stopped the 20 year-old man who was shot along with his friends. His friends told the police that he had been struck in the arm by the bullet during a fight within Crave nightclub.

The unidentified man, whose injuries were not life threatening, was taken the MED and treated.

This isn’t the first time the Crave location has had a problem. The previous tenants of the former Plush Club also had numerous brawls and complaints and was eventually shut down in 2010 after four police suffered from injuries and over 100 people were in a fight.

Crave Nightclub, owned by TwinzNControl, has had it’s share of public nuisance allegations since moving into the place in August 2011. A month after moving in, the establishment reportedly had a shootout which left six people hospitalized with gunshot wounds and police having to fire their weapons in the incident.

Due to the continued problems at the location, reportedly there has been talks of turning it into something more beneficial for the tourists who frequent Beale St, for instance a museum, marketplace or a cafe.
