Man Gunned Down In Front of Police in Holly Springs at Memphis Street


Monday afternoon (Apr. 21), a man was shot and killed in Holly Springs, MS. It all started when both the victim, Charles Pete Williamson, and the culprit, Michael Newson, got into an argument at Copper Kettle on North Memphis Street and Park Avenue.

Allegedly, Williamson, 27, was leaving the popular Copper Kettle restaurant and Newson was going in when the argument started. That’s when Newson, 25, a felon from previous charges, allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Williamson 3 times.

An officer driving by witnessed the incident, and it was said that Williamson ran into the middle of the road, collapsed, and died.

Newson was picked up later after the shooting happened, and as of right now, no further information has been made public.
