According to Lil Wayne’s attorney, Stacey Richman, police stories against Lil Wayne don’t add up and documents show it. The rapper’s hearing has been reset.
Officer Diane Hornung testified during a pre-trial Monday, September 8, 2008 that she smelled marijuana smoke coming from Lil’ Wayne’s tour bus and that the rapper was sitting wearing underwear on a bed and allegedly saw him trying to hide something in a bag. While the rapper proceeded to get dressed, she looked inside his bag and reportedly found a handgun.
Attorney Stacey Richman states that the officers stopped and boarded the tour bus without probable cause and the gun charges should be dropped.
Lil Wayne plead not guilty to illegal gun possession. The rapper faces a felony weapons charge with a mandatory sentence of 3-1/2 years in jail if convicted. The case which was scheduled for September 16th, was rescheduled due to witness scheduling and has been postponed until October.
