Lil Wayne Facing Felony Drug and Weapons Charges

Lil’ Wayne born Dwayne Carter, Jr was hit with felony drug and weapon charges in an Arizona courtroom earlier Friday.

According to reports Lil’ Wayne born Dwayne Carter, Jr was hit with felony drug and weapon charges in an Arizona courtroom earlier Friday. The rapper was charged after being arrested Tuesday for being in possession of ecstasy, marijuana, cocaine and handguns which were all found on his tour bus. One of the guns was a .40-caliber pistol registered to the rapper who has a concealed weapons permit in Florida. Wayne is been investigating by Drug Enforcement to see if any of Arizona’s gun laws were broken.

Lil Wayne’s tour bus was stopped at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint near Dateland, Arizona when a dog alerted them. The bus contained nearly 4 ounces of marijuana, more than 1 ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy, drug paraphernalia, $22,000 in cash and weapons. Reportedly there were more than 11 passengers on the bus where two have already been charged with possession of marijuana.

After careful consideration, the judge lifted bail restriction against the rapper, which will allow Wayne to leave the state and perform at scheduled events.

Currently Lil Wayne is free on bail after posting $10,185, but is expected to be back in jail February 12, 2008.
