The infamous Lester Street Murderer, Jesse Dotson, filed for a new trial on Wed. March 2 and was denied by the courts.
Dotson was convicted in October of 2010 for the murders of 9 people and the attempted murders of 3 children. He was sentenced to death by lethal injection along with 120 years.
His attorneys are not discouraged by the rejection of the re-trial and say that it was anticipated. They say that they have many grounds for appeal including lack of DNA evidence and that they will keep trying.
March 8, 2010 Jesse Dotson was arrested for the murders of 9 people and the attempted murder of 3 in a house on Lester street. The murders included his brother and his 2 and 4 year old nephews. The attempted murders included a 2 month old, a 5 year old and a 9 year old.
