Cincinnati comedian, actor and recording artist “Micah” Katt Williams (known from “Friday After Next”, MTV show “Wild N Out” with Nick Cannon and HBO comedy special “Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1”) was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport Monday after a gun was found in his briefcase, airport police said.
Katt Williams, 35, was arrested around 4:30 p.m. Officers at the airport security checkpoint Terminal 5, Monday afternoon found the weapon after he was stopped at a security checkpoint.
“An unknown object popped up on the X-ray monitor,” and a search of his briefcase turned up an unloaded gun that was found to have been reported stolen, Nettles said.
Three more weapons also turned up in the baggage that comedian Katt Williams had already checked in.
Katt Williams was later taken to a city police station and booked under the name of Micah S. Katt Williams for investigation of illegally possessing a firearm, according to statements by airport police Officer Belinda Nettles.
The comedian was booked on felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon and several other offenses and is being held without bail due to a connection with an outstanding warrant in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
To whether or not if this will effect his appearance on the upcoming taping of BET’s first Hip-Hop Awards on November 12, 2006 in Atlanta, only time will tell.
Inaddition, Katt Williams is stated to be working on his own rap/comedy album with Universal Records. The album will contain several collaborations with several well known artists.
