New details of the Kansas City Chief’s player Jovan Belcher shooting of his girlfriend dead then turning the gun on himself and committing suicide are coming out, following past details.

Allegedly, the NFL player shot his girlfriend and killed himself because she told him that he was not the father of her baby, Zoey.

The new details were released today. Cheryl Shepherd, Belcher ‘s mother said the couple were arguing over the paternity of their 3-month-old daughter right before the murder suicide which happened at her son’s home in Missouri.

Shepherd witnessed her son shoot and kill his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins, 22, nine times before fleeing to the Chiefs practice facility in Kansas City, where he turned the gun on himself shooting himself.

Belcher allegedly kissed Perkins’ dying body and the baby saying goodbye before fleeing the scene.

Now that the new details that Belcher and Perkins were allegedly fighting over whether the baby might not have been his, the question raises attention to the paternity, however a spokeswoman so far has refused to comment on baby Zoey’s paternity.

Despite the murder of the mother of his child and killing of himself, several hundred mourners, possibly thousands, gathered for the NFL linebacker’s funeral at Upper Room Christian Church in Dix Hills, New York, near his hometown on Long Island, New York. Belcher was memorialized as a ‘humble, kind young man.’
