Celebrity R&B/pop singer and actress Janet Jackson took a visit to the hospital due to flu-like symptoms and canceled her Saturday Night Live appearance.

Celebrity R&B/pop singer and actress, Janet Jackson, 41, made a visit to the hospital due to flu-like symptoms and had to drop out of her upcoming gig for “Saturday Night Live” (SNL).

According to the singers representative, she is suffering from the flu like a lot of people which has been kicking their behinds.

The singer/actress was seen at a hospital on Monday night in Los Angeles and later checked out.

No one is for certain if the performance on SNL will be rescheduled and what act will replace the singer.

In other news, Janet Jackson released her 10th album “Discipline” on February 26, 2008 and her first single “Feedback” was released as a digital download on December 26, 2007 and to radio on January 7, 2008. Her second single for the album “Rock with U” was released on February 5, 2008.

Since the release of the album “Discipline”, it has become her first number one album in almost seven years. The album follows her last two albums “Damito Jo” released in March of ’04 which had strong sales, but songs that failed and then the release of “20 Y.O.” in September of ’06 which also sold strongly, but failed to gain listeners attention.
