Jamie Foxx leads list of nominees at Billboard Awards

The world of urban music has advanced to the point where there is a demand for numerous urban awards shows. The list goes from the BET Awards, Soul Train Awards, SEA Awards and the Billboards R&B/ Hip Hop Awards to name a few. The demand has led to this supply, and it will continue as long as the need is there.

The life of urban music artists has developed into much more than just that of studio life. Now they do a great deal more than just make music, which shows how many of different walks of life have joined in the fun of the urban musical life. This year has not changed too much from the years before in the award shows of the urban music world. A few seem to be in every category and walk away from the award shows with tons of trophies. This year Jamie Foxx, Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige, and Kanye West are at the top of that list.

Jamie Foxx leads the list in nominations with eight. This actor turn musical genius has had a busy year. He has been named among 23 entertainers who will have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year, and is nominated for top R&B/hip-hop album and R&B/hip-hop artist from the Billboard Awards. Foxx is also nominated for R&B/hip hop song, male artist and airplay. Some new names to the list of nominates are Chris Brown, Lyfe Jennings, Young Jeezy, Keyshia Cole who is nominated for three awards, and Ne-Yo.

The 2006 Billboard Awards will be held on September 8 at Renaissance Waverly in Atlanta, GA. The awards are the last event of a three-day conference that will be attended by over 700 of the big names in the music industry. The Billboard Awards like many of the other urban award shows gives the urban community a chance to see who is making moves in the music world and provides those that attend the conference with great information on the world of entertainment.
