Iraq video execution shows Saddam’s brother beheaded

The executions were said to not be filmed for video this time, but it was by the Iraqi Government only. Both men wore orange prison style jumpsuits during their executions and black hoods upon their heads. Bander was stated as saying a Muslim prayer before their bodies were released through the trapped doors. “There is no god but God,” said Bander while Barzan remained silent.

Saddam’s brother Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti, 55, fell through the trapdoors and immediately his hooded head was severed from his body by the rope that was placed around his neck. Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti’s head laid next to his body in a pool of blood. The body of 61-year-old Awad Hamed al-Bander swung lifeless near Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti.

Government officials who have a copy of the video execution of Sadaam’s brother and aide stated that they will not distribute any part of the film to the public unlike the recent footage of Saddam being executed in December in the gallows.

The video has been shown only to a select few for screening purposes to cut down on the speculations whether or not that Saddam’s half-brother and aide where actually hung. A government spokeman has announced the recent hangings as a mishap due to the decapitation to cut down on officials being accused of harming the body of Barzan which is stated to be a hate figure for Shi’ites.

Both bodies have been handed over to Sunni tribal leaders and officials in the hometown of Saddam “Tikrit”.
