Introducing “Da Saltine Dream”

40 Kel and DJ Twinkie were spotted at SpinStreet in Memphis TN for their first CD release/ signing. They had a big crowd come out and support, not to mention 8Ball stopped by to show some love! Kel and Twinkie both did a performance and greeted fans by signing CD’s and taking pics. You may know 40Kel and DJ Twinkie from their Rapping Movie Reviews every Friday morning on Q107.5, where they watch a newly released movie and write a comical rap describing the plot. Its definitely some great morning entertainment! Don’t be confused by their comedy though, these boys are serious and rooted straight outta Memphis. I caught up with Kel after their signing and got the scoop on the new album. Here is what he had to say….

This is my first album, its featuring 1 Tyme, Bony Mack, Spook, and DJ Twinkie

“Ghost Gangsta”- is a song everybody can relate to, with all these folks out there talkin it and thinking they hard, but when its time to do something they dont show

“Struggle”- Is a song about everyday life and what and how i should go about it

“What’s ya Collar Say”- iS the new trend folks are starting to do where they Tag their collars with whatever they wanted to say either airbrushed or painted on. Basically to add some flavor to their uniforms especially kids

“Memphis Boyz”- Is about how we roll here in Memphis! Had to do one for my city

After learning a little bit about each song, it helps pull together what kind of album this is and where the lyricist is coming from. Make sure you go check it out and give some feedback to 40 Kel and his crew. The album is named “Da Saltine Dream” and available at Spin Street. http://www.myspace.com/dasaltinedream
