The man is brother to a famous actress and comedian.

Mindy Kaling (whose real name is Vera Mindy Chokalingam) has a brother named Vijay Chokalingam who claims his famous sister isn’t happy with him nowadays and says he has brought ‘shame’ on their family.

Vijay Chokal-Ingam claims, back in 1998, he pretended to be a black man, by shaving off his hair and cutting his long eyelashes inorder to get accepted into the St. Louis University School of Medicine.
