I beleive the old saying is… “If you tell them, they will come”
As you will notice below: I promote events that I am involved with…Because that is the way you get someone to attend and support what you’re doing! So why is it that someone would pay $ to rent a place out, book performers, and then not promote one bit and still expect someone to come??? It’s not rocket science… and people aren’t searching and searching all day to figure out what they are going to do on a Saturday night. You have to literally put it in there face!
I attended an “event” this past Saturday that I could do nothing but feel bad for. I stayed maybe 20 min before I was even embarrassed about being there. I won’t put anyone on blast but damn have some common sense. I’m tired of telling folks how to make an event a success and I’m telling them the same thing over and over. You have to market anything you are wanting attention for. A new album, an event, your new dance…MARKET YOURSELF! Notice the ads on memphisrap.com, Yeah that’s right- You could reach people by putting yourself in those ads and promoting yourself.
News Flash: There are very few handouts in life, so if you want something bad enough, make the right moves and prove yourself.
Im done!
