DJ Paul Juicy J lawsuit

A lawsuit has been filed in DeKalb County, Georgia in the Atlanta metro-area against Three 6 Mafia accusing the Oscar winning rap group of using 8Ball and MJG’s music in their recordings without the permission of the rights owner named Reggie Boyland of On The Strength Records.

According to AJC, Boyland alleges that Three 6 Mafia sampled the song “Listen To Da Lyrics” featured on albums Lyrics Of A Pimp and Memphis Under World as well as the song “Pimps In The House” featured on the album Comin’ Out Hard.

Listed on the docket as defendants are Jordan Houston (Juicy J), Paul Beauregard (DJ Paul), Select-O-Hits, LLC, S.A.T. Ent Music, LLC and Scale-A-Ton Entertainment, LLC.

This is not the first time Three 6 Mafia has been sued in regards to sampling recordings associated with On The Strength Records.

Back in August 2014, it was reported that Boyland filed a lawsuit in the Atlanta District Court regarding the same matter.

This recent lawsuit which was filed on March 20th was in DeKalb County Superior Court.
