Memphis’ very own rap/hip-hop star, GloRilla, has officially released her long-awaited debut studio album, Glorious. Released on October 11, 2024, through Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group (CMG) and Interscope Records, this project marks a major milestone in her burgeoning career.
GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods, first captured widespread attention with her 2022 viral hit, “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” which propelled her into the mainstream and landed her a coveted deal with Yo Gotti’s CMG. Since joining the label, she has continued to make a name for herself, steadily building her fanbase with her fierce delivery and raw authenticity. GloRilla stands out as one of the freshest voices in Southern hip-hop, known for bringing the spirit of Memphis to the forefront of the rap scene.
Her debut album, Glorious, showcases her journey and the growth she’s experienced both personally and artistically. The 15-track project is packed with collaborations, featuring appearances from chart-topping artists like T-Pain, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, and Sexyy Red, as well as contributions from gospel luminaries such as Kierra Sheard, Kirk Franklin, and Maverick City Music. The combination of hip-hop, gospel, and R&B highlights GloRilla’s ability to cross musical boundaries.
As the first female artist signed to CMG, GloRilla carries the weight of representing Memphis on a larger stage. Her album is filled with tributes to her hometown, with songs like “Queen of Memphis” and “Glo’s Prayer” reflecting her deep connection to the city and her personal evolution. Meanwhile, tracks like “How I Look” with Megan Thee Stallion and “Whatchu Kno About Me” featuring Sexyy Red maintain the confident, assertive tone that fans have come to expect from Glo.
