Rashad Harden better known as DJ Rashad, a pioneer of house music and footwork, was found dead over the weekend.
DJ Rashad was 34 years-old at the time of his death.
Police reveal that a friend found Harden’s dead body on Saturday in an apartment on Chicago’s West Side.
Harden’s death follows behind news reports of another hip hop pioneer, DJ EZ Rock of the famed hip hop song “It Takes Two” with Rob Base, who also died over the weekend at 46.
While the details of DJ EZ Rock’s death have not been made clear, DJ Rashad is believed to have died from an apparent drug overdose.
The artist was expected to release a new EP just days after his death.
Ironically, another house music star Frankie Knuckles reportedly died less than a month before fellow hip hop/house music icon DJ Rashad.
