Former alternative rock station 96X recently switched its format relaunching as an old school hip hop station now called “Boomin 96” (96.1 WIVG).
The Flinn Broadcasting owned station which may now could be considered the throwback brother to Flinn’s hip-hop station Hot 107.1 is set to broadcast “classic” or should we say “throwback” hip hop music.
According to reports, the station will be playing everything from 80’s hip hop music such as Run DMC, Sugarhill Gang and LL Cool J to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg 90’s hits and more.
Including in the line-up of programming music on the station will be local hip hop music from Memphis rap artists such as Three 6 Mafia, Al Kapone, 8Ball & MJG and others.
