Rapper Meek Mill has been sentenced to jail by a Philadelphia judge for violating parole for a 2009 drug and gun offense.
According to sources, Meek Mill and his attorney pleaded to a judge trying to persuade her from locking up the rapper, but it seems like he may have crossed the line too many times with the D.A.’s office.
Apparently the judge claimed that she didn’t want to do it but says she had no choice based on Meek Mill’s attitude which included the rapper possibly posting tweets targeted at the D.A.’s office.
The rapper reportedly also changed his cellphone number without alerting the office as well as performed at multiple concerts without getting approval.
The judge wanted the rapper to stop performing for at least a month while she tried to work out issues with his probation, but the rapper failed to comply.
Meek Mill has been sentenced to 3 to 6 months in city jail as his album has an expected release of September.
