Katy Perry Songjacks Three 6 Mafia; Laws Of Power Album This Summer 2011

Katy Perry, the name made household with a rise to fame from her 2008 hit song ‘I Kissed a Girl’ says that her newly released single ‘E.T.,’ with reference to ‘Extraterrestrial’ from off her third studio album Teenage Dream, was actually meant for Three 6 Mafia (DJ Paul and Juicy J).

Katy Perry says the beat for “E.T. – which was originally intended for Academy Award winning hip hop group Three 6 Mafia – was accidentally played in the recording studio and when she heard it, she just knew the song was for her new material.

Perry says she remembers “writing with Max Martin and Dr. Luke” and they were working with producer Ammo but while letting her listen to some tracks, “they accidentally pulled up this beat” that was for Three 6 Mafia and when she heard it, she “always knew” she “wanted to write this futuristic, alienistic song,” Perry stated to MTV News.

The single “E.T.,” which features vocals from Kanye West, was released on last month as the fourth single release on Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” album.

The song and new music video for Katy Perry’s “E.T.” is available online.
